The Eagle Ford shale, one of the largest shale deposits in the world, is in our backyard. In the few years since the first well was drilled there, the Eagle Ford shale has become an active and hugely successful play. So much activity naturally breeds disputes. These disputes can take many forms, such as over ownership rights in minerals, drilling rights under leases, surface rights, and proper payment of royalties. After oil and gas is produced, it must be moved to market. This can lead to disputes over anything and everything that occurs in the “midstream” to process the product and get it sold.
